IRP&E is pleased to announce that three of our staff had proposals accepted to the Association for Institutional Research’s (AIR) annual conference, AIR Forum, to be held May 20-23, 2025 in Orlando, FL. The AIR Forum is an opportunity for institutional research professionals and “data nerds” from around the world to share best practices and learn from experts in the fields of higher education, institutional research, and data science. We detail our presentation topics below and are looking forward to sharing our work at CSU with the AIR community!
Empowering Student Success through Technology-Driven Interactive Dashboards

Tae Yamaki, Senior IT developer and BI Data Architect, will take a hands-on approach in her presentation by showing several of IRP&E’s interactive dashboards in real-time. These dashboards detail key metrics of institutional achievements and student progress. She will demonstrate how these dashboards help stakeholders and the institution make informed decisions and plans. Explore our interactive catalogue here!
Fast Facts: Reproducible Fact Book Reporting in Quarto

Nicole Ross, Associate Director and Data Scientist, will discuss the limitations of Business Intelligence (BI) tools like Power BI and Tableau and a reliable, cost-efficient alternative tool that can fill the gaps left by these platforms – Quatro. Nicole will show how IRP&E generates annual Fact Books through a reproducible, dynamic, and automated process in Quarto (via RStudio). Check out our Quarto-produced Fact Books here!
The Path to Your Next Data Role in Higher Ed: Chief Data Officer

Heather Novak, IRP&E Director, and Reena Khosla, the Director of Enterprise Data Warehouse at Kansas State University, are both professionals with 20 years of experience in higher education data analytics. They have joined together to lead a discussion on the importance of a Chief Data Officer (CDO) and the skillset needed to succeed in this role. Fun fact: Reena is a former IT Developer in IRP&E!
