Honors Program

These reports provide an overview of the demographic breakdown of first-year, fall cohort students in the honors program along several categories over the last five years. Persistence and graduation rates among Honors students are explored in the 2016 and 2015 reports.

Overall, students who are female, non-residents, and STEM majors are well-represented in the Honors Program. Structurally underserved students (first generation, Pell recipients, and racially minoritized) are underrepresented in the Honors Program compared to the larger overall university, though their participation in the program has been increasing steadily.

In regards to persistence and graduation rates, while achievement gaps were seen in structurally underserved populations, the gaps were smaller among Honor program participants than non-Honors students.
